How to introduce yourself in English
Introducing yourself is the first step to making new friends or starting a conversation. A simple introduction includes your name, age, country, and something about you.
You can say:
“Hi, my name is Anna. I’m 25 years old. I’m from Poland. I work as a teacher and I love reading books.”
It’s also polite to ask the other person:
“What’s your name?”
“Where are you from?”
“What do you do?”
Use greetings like “Hi”, “Hello”, or “Nice to meet you”.
Always smile and speak clearly. If you are in a formal setting, you can say:
“Good morning. My name is John Smith.”
Practice your introduction in front of a mirror or with a friend. The more you practice, the more confident you will feel!
